This course explores the theories and strategies of ideological subversion, as articulated by former Soviet KGB informant Yuri Bezmenov. Students will investigate the stages of psychological warfare used to destabilize societies from within, including demoralization, destabilization, crisis, and normalization. Through critical analysis of Bezmenov's lectures, writings, and interviews, students will examine how these tactics have been employed historically and their relevance to contemporary geopolitics. Emphasis will be placed on the role of media, education, and culture in shaping public perception and controlling societal narratives. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to critically assess ideological influences and develop strategies for preserving democratic values in the face of subversive forces.
